I wanted to learn more about uniting and subtracting areas to allow for interesting borders rather than just simple shapes.  Found it to be a bit challenging to get the cap & diploma to work well with two separate cuts, but ultimately worked through it by handling each individually.  I traced the cap bitmap twice and performed a unite for the outer perimeter cut and subtract overlap for the inner cutout.
